ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. — The Red Hook girls soccer team recorded its first loss of the season on Saturday as the Raiders dropped a 1-0 decision to Cornwall in a non-league game at Bard College.
The game’s lone goal came on Caigan Leonard’s unassisted tally in the 60th minute. The Raiders outshot the Dragons 8-6
Isabella Faraldi made four saves for Red Hook, 2-1-0 overall. Maddy Walsh recorded four saves in getting the shutout for the Dragons, 1-1-0 overall.
“I thought that our two teams were evenly matched,” Raiders coach Jason Pavlich said. “Both teams had several good scoring opportunities, and each time the keepers came up big. The difference was a great run and finish by Cornwall’s Caigan Leonard with 20 minutes to go in the game.”
Red Hook will host Marlboro in a Mid-Hudson Athletic League game on Tuesday, Sept. 13, at 4:15 p.m.
