RED HOOK, N.Y. — Cristian Merino’s goal proved to be the game’s only goal as the Red Hook boys soccer team defeated visiting Marlboro 1-0 in a Mid-Hudson Athletic League game on Monday.
Matt Mulkin assisted on the goal for the (3-1) Raiders. Julian Senterfit-Sanjuan had a save for Red Hook, which also got two saves from Austin Litton.
Alex MacAteer made eight saves for the (1-2) Dukes.
The Raiders are at Our Lady of Lourdes on Wednesday, Sept. 14, for a MHAL match starting at 4:15 p.m. Also on Sept. 14 at 4:15 p.m., Marlboro hosts Rondout Valley in a MHAL game.
At Saugerties, Renzo Scanu scored two goals, including the game-winner in overtime, to lift the Panthers over the Sawyers in MHAL play.
Shaan Sekhon scored the lone goal for Saugerties. Both teams had nine shots on goal.
Anthony Annacone made eight saves in goal for the Panthers. Sawyers goalie Adonai Salinas made seven saves.
Wallkill hosts New Paltz on Wednesday, Sept. 14, at 4:15 p.m. in a league game. Saugerties is at Roosevelt for a MHAL match on Wednesday, Sept. 14, at 5:15 p.m.
At Esopus, Martin Mendoza scored four goals and Jadon Scott and Chris Recinos added a tally apiece as the Eagles posted a shutout win in a MHAL game.
Ian Fischer contributed two assists for Mount Academy (2-0-0). Franklin Arnold also had an assist. Leon Maendel did not need to make a save in goal for the Eagles.
Adrian Ashong and Jacob Osborn combined 20 saves for Millbrook (0-2-0).
Mount Academy is back in action on Friday, Sept. 16, when it takes on Ellenville in a MHAL match starting at 4:15 p.m.
At Accord, the Ganders were shut out by the Warriors in MHAL action.
Sebastian Guerrero made 11 saves in goal for Rondout Valley, 0-2 in the league and 0-3 overall.
The Ganders are at Marlboro on Wednesday, Sept. 14, for a MHAL match starting at 4:15 p.m.
